“The Beautiful Souls” is an exploration of perception - its political embodiments - and the ways in which we anticipate and give meaning to things. Together with 25 performers who are embedded (anonymous) among them, the audience are immersed in (and therefore co-creators of) a sensorial dramaturgy that raises questions about the paradoxes of co-existence, ideology, desire, and the fragile boundaries between love and hate; co-dependency and antagonism.

“The Beautiful Souls" is the third of an ongoing series that explores symbolic violence and the body as a site of resistance in crisis. The first “A Prelude to the Last” (2018) questioned potentialities of the falling body to open empathy and invoke action among strangers. “Dance Party (the apocalypse is disappointing)” (2019), the second iteration addressed psycho-corporeal (imaginary) violence as a means to decode ideologies of the body and reinvent ways of being together. This third and most recent work The Beautiful Souls takes as its focus the politics of perception and the violence of the encounter with the Other.
